ProviderTools is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities.
Last updated: December 4, 2025
Our Commitment
ProviderTools is committed to making our tools and website accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to our privacy-first document processing tools, regardless of their abilities.
Standards We Meet
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, including:
- Visual impairments (blindness, low vision, color blindness)
- Hearing impairments
- Motor disabilities
- Cognitive and learning disabilities
Accessibility Features
Keyboard Navigation
All interactive elements and tools can be accessed and operated using only a keyboard. This includes:
- Tab navigation through all interactive elements
- Keyboard shortcuts for PDF redaction (Ctrl/Cmd+Z for undo)
- Skip links to bypass repetitive navigation
- Clear focus indicators on all interactive elements
Screen Reader Support
Our website and tools are designed to work with popular screen readers, including:
- NVDA (Windows)
- JAWS (Windows)
- VoiceOver (macOS, iOS)
- TalkBack (Android)
We use semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and descriptive text to ensure screen reader users can navigate and understand all functionality.
Visual Design
- Color Contrast: All text meets WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Text Sizing: Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of functionality
- Color Independence: Information is never conveyed by color alone
- Responsive Design: Works on all screen sizes and orientations
Forms and Inputs
- All form fields have clear, descriptive labels
- Error messages are announced to screen readers
- Required fields are clearly marked
- Field-level validation with helpful error messages
Alternative Content
- All images have descriptive alt text
- Decorative images are hidden from screen readers
- Video content includes captions (when applicable)
- Complex information has text alternatives
Testing Methods
We regularly test our accessibility through:
- Automated Testing: axe-core and Lighthouse accessibility audits
- Manual Testing: Keyboard-only navigation testing
- Screen Reader Testing: Testing with NVDA and VoiceOver
- User Testing: Feedback from users with disabilities
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, we acknowledge the following current limitations:
- PDF redaction tool requires mouse or trackpad for drawing redaction boxes (keyboard alternative planned for future release)
- Image preview thumbnails may not be fully accessible to screen reader users
- Some third-party integrations (Stripe checkout) have accessibility considerations outside our control
We are actively working to address these limitations in future updates.
Browser Compatibility
ProviderTools is designed to work with the following browsers with accessibility features enabled:
- Chrome (latest version)
- Firefox (latest version)
- Safari (latest version)
- Edge (latest version)
Assistive Technologies
Our tools are designed to be compatible with:
- Screen readers
- Screen magnifiers
- Speech recognition software
- Alternative input devices
- Browser text-only mode

Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We are committed to:
- Regular accessibility audits of new features
- Training our team on accessibility best practices
- Incorporating user feedback into our design process
- Staying current with WCAG guidelines and best practices
- Documenting accessibility features in our development process

Some content on our site may be provided by third parties (such as Stripe for payment processing). We work with vendors who share our commitment to accessibility, but we cannot guarantee the accessibility of all third-party content.
